ROCK PYTHON
“…fabulous pic of a snake…”
I thought you might be interested in this fabulous pic of a snake – a rock python, I think – trying to eat a dead kangaroo. I don’t know who took the pic, but I was told it was taken somewhere up in the Kimberleys, in the far north-west of West Australia.

The snake is actually an Olive Python, Australia’s largest (heaviest) snake, they can grow to 5 metres in length and weigh 20-25 kilos. They can easily swallow whole wallabies and roos. It is a great photo, one of a series of photos taken as it pulled the wallaby out of the water.
